Terms of Use

Last updated 20 August 2026

These terms cover the Lotus app on iOS and Android and the web version at lifecounter.app, published by Vanilla b.v., Hurksestraat 19, 5652 AH Eindhoven, The Netherlands. By using Lotus you agree to them.

Using Lotus

Lotus is free. Every feature is available to everyone, without payment, and we intend to keep it that way. You may use it for personal, non-commercial play as much as you like.

You may not resell Lotus, redistribute it as your own, or attempt to break, overload or reverse engineer it.

Supporting Lotus

Supporting Lotus is entirely optional and unlocks nothing. No feature is or will be placed behind payment. Support exists so the app can stay free and free of advertising.

Subscriptions. Monthly support is an auto-renewable subscription. It renews at the same price each month until you cancel, and is charged to your Apple or Google account at confirmation of purchase. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it any time in your device’s account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.

One-time support. A one-time payment does not renew and does not expire.

Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies, not by us.

Cancelling or refunding changes nothing about how Lotus works for you, because nothing was locked in the first place.

Your data

Lotus stores your games and settings on your own device. We do not hold them, and we cannot restore them if you delete the app or clear your browser data. See the Privacy Policy.

Card data and Magic: The Gathering

Card names, images and prices come from Scryfall. Lotus is unofficial fan content permitted under the Wizards of the Coast Fan Content Policy. It is not produced, endorsed, supported or affiliated with Wizards of the Coast. Magic: The Gathering and all related properties are trademarks of Wizards of the Coast LLC.

No warranty

Lotus is provided as is. We do our best to keep it accurate and working, but it is a life counter, not a referee, and we are not liable for a disputed game, a lost total, or any loss arising from using it. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us, which for almost everyone is nothing.

Availability

We may change, suspend or discontinue Lotus at any time. If we ever stop maintaining it, we will say so rather than let it quietly rot.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them.
