The short version

Lotus has no accounts, no login, and no server of ours storing anything about you. Your games, counters, player names, profiles and settings are saved on your own device and never leave it.

What stays on your device

The following are stored locally, in your browser’s storage or the app’s own storage, and are never sent to us:

  • Life totals, counters, commander damage and game history
  • Player names, colours, profiles and background images you choose
  • Your settings and preferences
  • Whether you have supported Lotus, and at which tier

Deleting the app, or clearing your browser data, deletes all of it permanently. We cannot recover it, because we never had it.

What leaves your device

Card search. When you search for a card, the query is sent to Scryfall, which returns card data and images. Their privacy policy applies to that request.

GIF search. If you search for an animated background, the query is sent to Giphy. Their privacy policy applies to that request.

Website analytics (web only). lifecounter.app uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which features get used. This is aggregate and is not used to identify you. The iOS and Android apps do not currently send analytics.

Purchases. If you choose to support Lotus, the payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see your name, email, card details or address. We only receive confirmation from the store that a purchase exists.

What we do not do

  • No advertising, and no advertising or tracking SDKs of any kind
  • No selling or sharing of data, because there is none to sell
  • No profiles, no cross-app tracking, no fingerprinting
  • No emails from us, because we do not have your address

Children

Lotus does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. For the apps there is nothing for us to act on, because we hold nothing: your data never leaves your device. For the website, requests about analytics data can be sent to the address above.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. The European authorities are listed at edpb.europa.eu. We would rather you came to us first.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
